In the Old Testament, Judges 7:19 describes how the walls of Jericho came tumbling down after the trumpet blast from Gideon's army. There is no reference in the Bible to "pence" as a currency, although Jesus did speak of the widow who gave all she could - a fraction of a penny (Mark 12:42). He also warned against those who take their adversary to court and refuse to seek reconciliation - they run the risk of the judgment going against them and being thrown into prison.
